The Vision for IF:Local in February & November

So many beautiful things have happened since we announced the bigger vision on Monday. You are rising up all over the country and the world, bringing this IF:Local vision to life. Just today we received emails from women who are saying they want to host gatherings in Tokyo, Mexico, and Ireland… seriously this is unbelievable. Only God.

Over the coming weeks we will do our best to continue to expand what we know about the vision. Today we want to expand on the goals and focuses of our two gatherings in 2014.

February 7th, 2014 we will gather all of the voices, all of the ideas, all of the people, all of the passions in one room for the very first time. We have never done this before and we are going to go live and public in our vulnerable first few moments. But we believe God moves through weakness, imperfection, unknowns and faith…. expect all of that. And together we will dream and pray for God to move and unify us.  This is a call to pray.

So… Gather your people together in churches, in homes, in neutral places to take part in this call to prayer. But because of our limited time and resources to prepare, our advice to you is: keep it simple, keep it laid back, keep it loose.

There are so many unknowns we think it would be wise to keep February informal- we wouldn’t make a big production or plan your entire women’s retreat around this event.

Will you commit to just show up, gather friends and watch with us what God wants to do as we pray and connect and dream?

Here is what IF can provide:

• Live webcast (running on Central Standard Time)
• A PDF that has ideas and resources to make your gathering vulnerable, simple, deep and humble.

Here is what we will not provide:

• Training by our staff and leadership
• Promotional materials

Then in November 2014, we will prepare local leaders around the world to bring together rooms and churches full of women from diverse denominations and cultural backgrounds to pray and connect together for their cities and to dream of how they can better serve God together, unified on mission.

This is a call to unity. This happened for us (read more) when we gathered diverse leaders in Austin and we believe the walls could fall down and women around the world could see the same walls fall down.

IF will provide:

• More intentional training for church and city leaders
• Resources to build the culture for your own gatherings
• Materials to help host the event
• Live simulcasting

In sum, in February we are gathering a generation of women to pray. In November, prayerfully, local leaders and churches will partner with us to unify women across all cultural and theological backgrounds to dream, pray and talk about what we can do in our time and place for His Kingdom.

We are so crazy thankful for you and your support and excitement. It has increased our faith in what God is doing here and we will need your help for this vision to ever become realized.
