How are you feeling as we begin the new year? Some of us can get easily overwhelmed at the thought of what’s to come, while others may love the excitement of a fresh start. Regardless of which camp you’re in, we can’t go through the new year without people to support, challenge, encourage, and love us.

In Galatians 6:2, Paul writes, “Carry each other’s burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ.” We weren’t created to walk through life alone, and that’s why IF:Table exists. We want to make it easy for you to gather and dig deep together so that you can form friendships that go beyond the surface-level talk, and allow you to share the struggles and the joys of life with the people around your table.

One of our long-time IF:Table hosts, Andrea McMaster, shared with us why community is so important to her:

“I would not be the woman I am today in Christ without women walking hand in hand with me in my faith, pushing me, encouraging me, and keeping me accountable.

I often tell people about one of my lowest moments when I didn’t know how to pray because I was so sad, angry, and disappointed that I couldn’t even form words to pray. That’s when my friends intervened, surrounded me, and lifted me up to Jesus. First, however, I needed to be vulnerable to let them know that I was in despair and that I needed them to bring me to the feet of Jesus. This is why God intended for us to live in community with one another.”

Whether you’ve hosted IF:Table for 3 years or you’re just getting started, we want to remind you that community matters, and it can come through simply extending an invite to enjoy pizza and conversation at your crayon-stained kitchen table.
