Interpretation: Philippians 3

But God has revealed them to us through His Spirit. For the Spirit searches all things, yes, the deep things of God (NKJV).

1 Corinthians 2:10

Watch Week Four Day Three

Today we will humbly approach the Scriptures and ask the Holy Spirit to help us interpret Philippians 3. Remember, we cannot understand the meaning of Scripture without the Holy Spirit’s revelation. We will base our interpretation on the observations we made during the previous two days of this study. As you interpret Philippians 3, remember the following:
– Consider the context of the passage in light of the book of Philippians and the Bible as a whole.
– Your interpretation should line up with the major themes of the Bible.
– Scripture never contradicts itself.
– Seek out the author’s intention for writing the text.

As we attempt to accurately interpret the Scriptures, let us remember 1 Corinthians 2:10: “But God has revealed them to us through His Spirit. For the Spirit searches all things, yes, the deep things of God” (NKJV). Then join us in this prayer:

Oh, God, reveal your truth to us through your Spirit, show us the deep things of God as we seek to understand the meaning of Philippians 3. We ask for spiritual wisdom.
