Today we seek to understand the ways in which God has called us to apply Philippians 4 to our lives. We will base our application of Scripture on our observation and interpretation of the passage. The application could look different for each of us, since we are each on our own God-given journey.
As you try to apply Philippians 4 to your life, remember that God’s Word is useful for teaching, reproof, correction, and training in righteousness. Are you thinking or living in a way that contradicts God’s Word? What is God trying to teach you through Philippians 4?
As we attempt to apply God’s Word to our lives, let us remember the goal of application: “Therefore be imitators of God, as beloved children; and walk in love, just as Christ also loved you and gave Himself up for us, an offering and a sacrifice to God as a fragrant aroma” (Ephesians 5:1–2 NASB).
Let us pray:
Oh God, help us to be like you! Mold us into Your image. Help us imitate Your ways by walking in the same love You have shown us.
