If This is True, Then...

For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.

Ephesians 6:12

Watch Week Two Day Five

Today we will review the major truths discussed throughout the week. This is your opportunity to reflect and press into these truths. What truths did you gravitate toward? Which truths were more difficult? Remember, this study is a bird’s-eye view of deep, foundational truths of Christianity. In future studies, we will dig even deeper.

Reflection on God’s Character

If God is almighty, how does this truth impact your life? God is the all-powerful one, since He created and rules over the earth. God is the all-present one who is everywhere and near to us at all times. God is the all-knowing one who knows all things, even the depths of our hearts, souls, and minds. His greatness is difficult for our natural minds to grasp. Oh God, help us to believe!

Not only is our God mighty but He is also a personal God. His love knows no bounds; He gave up His life to save ours. God is the light, shining our way in the darkness. He is good and has our good in mind. God is mighty, but He is not distant. He cares deeply for His children, and His desire is to know us intimately. How do these truths bring you comfort? How do these truths affect you?

Reflection on the Maker of Earth and All that is Seen

God created the earth. He created mankind. Humanity is God’s workmanship, the masterpiece of His creation. As humans, we are the only creatures created in God’s image. God fashioned us after Himself. What an amazing truth! Even though we are not perfect like God is, we possess traits that are of God, such as the ability to think, love, work, play, and be in relationship with others. What is your responsibility as an image bearer of God?

Reflection on the Maker of Heaven and All that is Unseen

God made the heavens. He created the spiritual realm, which consists of good and evil. If the angels, demons, and Satan truly exist, then what?

Many of us don’t understand or have little experience with the spiritual realm. It can even seem distant, weird, or scary. But the spiritual realm does exist. Ephesians 6:12 says, “For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms” (NIV). Our fight is against the evil one, Satan. As we fight, we don’t have to worry, because God has overcome the world. How can an understanding of the spiritual realm affect your relationship with God and your view of the world?

When it comes to the last day of the week with this question it is so hard to pick just one truth! The one that resonates with me is the reflection of the maker of Earth and all that is seen because he is showing us what our minds can’t understand regarding the unseen. He reveals himself to us each and every morning when we wake through his beauty of the sunrises the flowers the grass the trees the rain the snow even the thunderstorms and lightning. I always remember saying and I still do when it’s thundering God is bowling. We see him even at night with the moon and the stars which lights the darkness. If you ever walked the beach at night and looked at the moon and stars how awesome it is, it’s God displaying his awesomeness! I believe this is how God Almighty our Great Painter Awesome Artist shows himself to us so we can see his goodness and greatness in all things seen and how much more awesome they must be in the unseen! How can you not say how beautiful how awesome Lord when we see just the simplicity in everyday life! I love that he wants to share this with me and I am so very grateful that he does.
