I Believe in the Almighty God

Who is like the LORD our God, who is seated on high?

Psalm 113:5

Watch Week Two Day One

The Nicene Creed states that we serve an almighty God. What does almighty mean? Almighty can be defined as complete power, unlimited power, and importance. God, the Almighty, has unlimited power—and through this power He created all things. God is mightier than anything or anyone. When we consider the divine attributes of God, we realize that not only is He all-powerful but He is also all present and all knowing.

The All-Powerful God

What does it mean that God is all-powerful? In the beginning of Scripture, in the book of Genesis, we see God’s power as God simply speaks creation into existence. Out of nothingness, God brings forth life. Omnipotent is another term for our all-powerful God. Scripture reveals God’s power over all of heaven and earth. The psalmist asks in Psalm 113, “Who is like the LORD our God, who is seated on high?” (v. 5). God rules over it all, exercising His power in love for the good of His creation. And through the death and resurrection of Jesus, God defeated our enemies evil and darkness, overcoming the power of sin and death. For even the power of the grave is no match for the power of God.

The All-Present God

God, the Almighty, is also ever present. He is everywhere. Omnipresent is another term for our all-present God.
In Psalm 139, the psalmist reflects, Where can I go from your Spirit? Where can I flee from your presence? If I go up to the heavens, you are there; if I make my bed in the depths, you are there. If I rise on the wings of the dawn, if I settle on the far side of the sea, even there your hand will guide me, your right hand will hold me fast. (NIV)
Wherever we find ourselves, whatever the state of our hearts might be, we can speak these words in every corner of creation, even in the midst of hardship and suffering: “God is here.” It is the bold proclamation of the people of God. God is here.

The All-Knowing God

In an exchange with Job, the Lord said, “Have you comprehended the vast expanses of the earth?” (Job 38:18 NIV). It is a rhetorical question, for clearly Job has not; and neither have we. But while our understanding and knowledge is limited, we worship the all-knowing God. Omniscient is another term for our all-knowing God. Scripture reveals to us that God’s knowledge is not simply vast, but a loving, intimate knowing of us. God knows the words we will speak before they are even on our tongues; God knows our deepest hurts, dreams, and desires. Look again at Psalm 139:1: “You have searched me, LORD, and you know me” (NIV). Consider that for a moment; perhaps even saying these words out loud: “God, you know me.” The God of all power and strength is here, calling you by name.

That God in all his fullness of being the Great Almighty Awesome and Sovereign God would love a sinner like me all my fears flaws and failures that he would pursue me. He doesn’t want to see me lost and alone. He wants me to be part of his family! He is reaching out to me directing and guiding me steps. In all that he is he is at the same time Abba Father and daddy as I cry out to him with all that’s with in me. Most of all he is not a God who is distant but a God waiting with open arms and ready to embrace us help us and forgive us when we call upon him. No matter where we are or what we do his compassion never fails. He is our refuge in times if trouble. God so loved the world he made the ultimate sacrifice for us so we would not be lost. The Almighty God maker of Heaven and Earth cares about me loves me and doesn’t want to be separated from me that he made a way for me. There is no other God all powerful all knowing all present who all things are possible with and at the same time wants a relationship with you and me! How great is our GOD!!!

Who am I that God would want a relationship with me the sinner that I am?

Why do bad things happen to good people? When there really are no good people but we have a good God who allows us to have free will and make our own decisions.

How can the Almighty God be so patient with his creation? Again all have fallen short of God’s glorious standards.

God made the “ultimate sacrifice” for us when he gave his son Jesus.

If Jesus suffered for us why do we struggle with suffering?

We have HIStory in his Holy Bible of who he is what he has done and will do (and continue to do) through his Amazing Grace and Mercy because of his Unfailing Love for us.

He is Almighty God who hears us and meets us right where we are and there are no strings attached!

Thank you Jesus in advance for answered prayers??
