The twenty-fourth chapter of Luke unfolds like a mystery drama. Three men are traveling from Jerusalem to the city of Emmaus. Two of the men are disciples of Jesus. The first is named Cleopas and Luke does not reveal the second disciple’s name. The third man, unknown to the two disciples, is Jesus—their master. Three days prior he had been crucified, and the two disciples are unaware of his resurrection. Cleopas and the other disciple are lamenting over the events that have taken place in Jerusalem. As Jesus walks with them, he questions their sadness.
Cleopas explains that Jesus’s disciples, himself included, had hoped that Jesus was the promised savior. But now that Jesus is dead, their hope has vanished. Jesus chastises the disciples and begins to speak with them about all the Scriptures that were about him. As they reached their destination, they urged Jesus to stay with them, still not recognizing him. During the evening meal Jesus blessed the bread, broke it, and gave it to them. Immediately, their eyes were opened, they recognized Jesus, and knew he was alive.
I think He was preemptively answering all the questions we would ever have in our spiritual walks. What is the right way to God? Jesus. What is the truth? Jesus. Where is the life I want? Jesus. He was simply and thoroughly giving us a map to the life that will fulfill and sustain and take us to Heaven. It’s Jesus. I believe it with all my heart.
He is the only way to life with God. Jesus stated no one gets to the Father but through Him and hi is part of the Father and the Father is part of him that is why He is the way to life with God
He is the only way. The perfect trinity the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. The Alpha and the Omega.
That He is the way, the truth and the life to abundant life in God. That we are one with Him in God. That He came to redeem us to Himself in God. That we can’t do anything apart from Him unless we are abiding in Him in God.
Yeah, I believe! He’s making a place for us right now, we need to keep our eyes on Him and not the world. ♥️
Yes. He took our sin on the cross and made the way for us. His (Jesus) is the answer to all the questions.
Yes yes He us our only answer and way to heaven. He provides us with all we need.
