Position Responsibilities:
- Record financial transactions for IF: GATHERING in Quickbooks
- Perform close process and prepare financial statements on a monthly basis
- Coordinate budget process and record completed budget in Quickbooks
- Reconcile credit card account monthly
- Import banking activity and reconcile bank statements monthly
- Create checks and obtain necessary signatures
- Accumulate receipts for expenditures from staff, validate that all receipts have been received on a monthly basis and file paperwork
- Complete bank deposits and make deposit at bank
- Process payrolls with ADP
- Track time off for personnel
- Record donations and payrolls for interns and report results to Intern Manager
- Import donation activity through donation system, manage donation system and record donations received by check
- Collect W-9’s for vendors
- Coordinate with Tax Accounting Consultant to produce annual 1099’s
- Coordinate with Tax Accounting Consultant to provide information needed for 990
- Produce contribution receipts and send to donors
- Coordinate with IF: GATHERING team and provide accounting support as needed
- Attend staff meetings
Position Qualifications:
The Accounting Associate will be thoroughly committed to the IF: GATHERING vision. All candidates should have proven leadership and relationship experience. Other qualifications include:
- Personal thriving relationship with Jesus Christ
- Working knowledge of Quickbooks and Microsoft Office tools required
- 3 to 5 years of work experience preferred
- Associate’s Degree in Accounting required; College Degree with major in Accounting preferred
- Technology savvy demonstrating the ability to understand and work with a variety of different software platforms
- Ability to work effectively in collaboration with diverse groups of people and communicate with personnel at all levels of the organization
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Logical thinking and problem solving skills required
- Strong organizational skills required
