We recently had the honor of talking to Anjali to get an update on her life & what IJM is doing. Anjali stepped out in serious faith earlier this year to publicly share her story with us at IF:Gathering 2016. Many of you have joined us in prayer & support for her, and we are excited to share this update with you.

Watch our reunion with Anjali below; then read on to discover how you can continue to stand up to injustice in the world.

This Cyber Monday, help IJM #RestartFreedom.

Sometimes we stumble across a particular brand of evil in the world that seems too dark to be true. The reality is too hard, the story too broken, to step into the ring and fight. But it is in this darkest of darkness that the light shines brightest. Scripture tells us in Job 12:22 that “He reveals the deep things of darkness and brings utter darkness into the light.”

This is what IJM is seeking to join with God in doing this Cyber Monday, by awakening the world to the horrific crime of cybersex trafficking of children and encouraging hearts to open & give on #GivingTuesday to help IJM fight this crime in the Philippines & #RestartFreedom for these sweet kids who are being robbed of a childhood.

IJM will be telling stories of children like Cassie, a brave girl in the Philippines who, from the outside, looked to be well-taken care of but, behind the walls of her house, was repeatedly abused and raped for an online audience.

Cassie came home from school on a Friday, knowing that the weekend ahead of her held untold terror. That night, Cassie woke up to loud noises. Police were there to rescue her from the home where she had suffered for nearly five years.

“I was very scared. I was crying,” Cassie recalls. An IJM social worker was there that night, and she told Cassie that she and the other children were not in trouble. They were being rescued. They were finally safe.

In the Philippines alone, authorities receive thousands of cybersex trafficking referrals a month. IJM is working closely with the Philippine government on long-term solutions to this great challenge.

To continue rescuing children like Cassie, IJM needs the strength, determination, and power of the IF community. Your lights shine so bright, and we need them to fight back this darkness. Would you join us this Cyber Monday in spreading the word about the battle to end cybersex trafficking of children? You can do so by signing up to receive an email on Black Friday that will explain the whole campaign and how you can get involved — beginning with the premiere of a short film on Cyber Monday to spreading the word on social media on #GivingTuesday. You can also visit ijm.org/shut-down-cyber beginning Monday, November 21 to download the full social share kit and invite others to the online premiere of IJM’s short film.

Join us together we’ll shut down cybersex trafficking of children and #RestartFreedom.
