Natalie Truman is a mom of two, a sister, a daughter, a friend, and a wife who lives outside of Denver, CO, in a town called Broomfield — quietly situated near the foothills of the mountains. When IF:Gathering launched four years ago, she felt pulled to explore its vision & mission but couldn’t imagine the future impact of her obedience to God’s direction.
“Last year was my third IF:Local, and each one has been totally different. When IF was announced, something in me stirred, and I knew I had to be a part of it. In the quiet of my heart, I knew that God was telling me to lead a local group. I rented a mountain home, and with 11 women, we experienced God in such a real way, and I was all in for IF. I had no idea what God wanted from me, but I felt like I was coming alive.”
Natalie pursued partnering with her local church. Due to timing and overall ministry demands, her local church didn’t move forward with partnership at the time — but that was not the end of the story. Natalie opened up her basement every month, hosting 70-100 women as they pursued God & each other. After hosting in her basement for over a year, her local church asked to partner to bring IF:Gathering to their women’s ministry.
Because of Natalie’s ‘yes,’ more than 100 women had local discipleship opportunities, which paved the way for a partnership with her local church. Together they were able to dream up a way that Flatirons could tailor the tools & content of IF:Gathering to support their women, and 3,500 women attended the launch of their now-monthly gatherings. Over the past eight months, more than 1,000 women have gathered each month at Flatirons in the Denver area to more deeply pursue God & each other.
Stories like Natalie’s show the ways God is on the move through His daughters.
