What This Means for Your Future

For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.

John 3:16
What This Means for Your Future Book Cover

Christ died for us.

Christ died for us because we are in desperate need of a savior.

Because we cannot save ourselves.

We cannot save ourselves from the ravaging curse that is sin.

Sin brings death and enslavement and has us constantly looking in the mirror, seeing our wretchedness, asking ourselves, “Why did I do that?”

But Christ has come for freedom, to set us free from the yoke of sin’s slavery so that we may have life and have it abundantly (Galatians 5).

Jesus died for us.

what does this all mean?

Christ makes us new and gives us the Holy Spirit as our helper so we can rest in who we are in Christ. Jesus says, “Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest” (Matthew 11:28). We can experience new life—here, now, and forever.

Yes, sin is at work in the world. It has wrecked humankind and it has also wrecked the world around us. Paul says in his letter to the Romans that “creation waits with eager longing for the revealing of the sons of God. For the creation was subjected to futility, not willingly, but because of him who subjected it, in hope that the creation itself will be set free from the bondage to corruption and obtain the freedom of the glory of the children of God. For we know that the whole creation has been groaning together in the pains of childbirth until now” (Romans 8:19–22).

But the Spirit is also at work in the world. A day is coming where sin will be no more. Where all the old will pass away and everything will be made new. Where those who were made new in Christ will reign with the Lord and bask in the glory of his presence and enjoy the perfection of a divine eternity. That day is coming. And God wants to extend the invitation to us to join him for that day. By his grace, God has made salvation available to all humankind. And with open arms he’s asking us to receive it.

I make sure to wake up every morning and say and give thanks to God for saving me. I need and want to become more involved in groups such as these to keep me learning and focused on God’s word and what plans He has for me, not here now, but when I finally go to His home. I try at the end of each day to read scripture to learn more to keep focused as well.

I can have daily communion with God to keep my eyes pointed towards Him and his ultimate reward. I can lean on him when I tire.

Pray continually to Him in all things, let go and let God. He knows our days, the plans He has for us where we are going and where we have been. Nothing is new to Him. All He wants is our trust and our love.

Slow down.. Focus on things of GOD first every day. Make sure my daily to-do list is important. Pray, Worship, read God’s word and listen for direction. Be Still…. nothing is more important or more refreshing than Jesus….

Making sure that I bring him in every aspect of my daily to-do list. I have a short temper and I also am a perfectionist, both of these things I am working on because I understand that it stems from my control issues because I had no control when I was young. So yes I know so much of what can happen when I do not bring him in my to-do list. Without him I become overwhelmed and frustrated, but with him I find peace and a calmness that I do not have to be percent and if the overwhelming list of what needs to be done does not get done or gets done in a manner that isn’t how I would have done it I can deal and be happy about it. Now trust me that does not mean that I don’t mess up and stumble, but with God is so much easier than without him beside me!

Focus on Gods word, be in meditation with him daily, count all joy and blessings, thanking God daily

Start with The Word and conversation with The Lord of Heaven’s Army first thing to set my mind upon Kingdom first living. This will go far to impressing my new creation inside me, deep in my heart from whence rivers of living water can pour out. It also allows room for God to set my priority list in order. Keep Scripture in front of me as a reminder of where the focus has to be.
