Week One: You + God Inventory

Week One: You + God Inventory Book Cover

The gospel must be big enough to fix the world’s problems as well as our individual ones. We must have a message that starts with God and the good news of our creation, while also staring down the depravity we see around us and being honest about it. We must name the injustice around us while also being honest about the rebellion within us. And, we trust and hope that the salvation God offers to us in his gospel is big enough to save all of it. Here are some questions to ponder:

  1. How would you summarize the world beginning?
  2. In what ways do you bear God’s image in your own life?
  3. How would you define sin and brokenness in the world and in your own life?
  4. How do you feel about God? How do you think God feels about you?

God, you are mighty. Thank you for the beauty of your creation. I see you in it. Would you continue to show me how to be more like you? I need you, Jesus. Every day.

In regard to sin, I remember hearing Louie Giglio day “sin doesn’t make us bad. It makes us dead.” When I think of the effects of sin in my life, I definitely see how it kills God’s life in me. Receiving his grace and mercy makes me feel alive and makes all the difference!

1. In the beginning there was absolutely nothing but God. God created everything for His glory, and He created it all from nothingness with only His voice.
2. Every time I love my brother or sister or enemy I am bearing God’s image.
3. Sin and brokenness in the world and in my life is seen in every aspect of creation. It’s chaos and sadness, murder and lying, and an utter lack of love and forgiveness and grace. It is the absence of God.
4. A lot of times I view God as the sovereign judge, but I’ve come to realize He views me as His child. As Zephaniah says, He “rejoices over me with singing.” What a beautiful truth!!

The world full of sin
I have shared Christ with others
And I men’s group at church where I have gone
Although they know God’s righteous decree that those who do such things deserve death, they not only continue to do these very things but also approve of those who practice them. you, then, who teach others, do you not teach yourself? You who preach against stealing, do you steal? The one who
is not circumcised physically and yet obeys the law will condemn you who, even though you have the written code and circumcision, are a lawbreaker. for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,
Romans 1:32,2:21,27,3:23 – https://www.biblegateway.com/passage?search=Romans%201:32,2:21,27,3:23&version=NIV
For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.
Romans 6:23 – https://www.biblegateway.com/passage?search=Romans%206:23&version=NIV“or ‘Who will descend into the deep?’” (that is, to bring Christ up from the dead). If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved.
Romans 10:7,9-10 – https://www.biblegateway.com/passage?search=Romans%2010:7,9-10&version=NIVFor God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him. Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because they have not believed in the name of God’s one and only Son.
John 3:16-18 – https://www.biblegateway.com/passage?search=John%203:16-18&version=NIV
I have accepted him as my savior and lord and I serve him best i cann

The world began with God’s love, in hope, with the redeeming death of Christ, the Lamb slain before the foundation of the world as its enabling power. Without Him was not anything made that wad made. Hard to comprehend God’s desire for fellowship with His disobedient creatures.
I bear God’s image as I act in His love, as He transforms me through His Holy Spirit into the likeness of his Son.
I define sin and brokenness in the world and myself as all of us putting ourselves before others and before God, so that we live inisolaton rather than communion with Him. I am grateful that He calls my ttention to the sin in my life, so that I can confess it, seek forgiveness and turn from it.
I am overwhelmed by the love nd power and grace of God. I know that He loves me. I know that my sin grieves Him. I know that He is shaping me into His image, and that ‘some day I shall be like Him’ when He brings about the new heaven and the new earth.

I am enough! He loves me and I love Him. I need to remember why I am here, He choose ma as He choose you. We should all remember to be so grateful.

I see God and his work every day when I first wake up and start my day. I realize it when the sun comes up, I look outside and see the birds eating out of the bird feeder and see the beauty around me. Then I turn the news on and hear the horrors of the world, the country, and my state caused by the pandemic. I start to pray and tank the Lord for saving me, for loving me enough to sacrifice his Son to save me, and for showing me His love. I always feel so broken by the world around me and yet so grateful and thankful for my salvation. I know I have to show others all of the love God has shown and given me

God is on His Throne-end of story.
No matter what trials and circumstances may come my way I know to take heart for God has overcome the world!

“For I have told you all this so that you may have peace in me. Here on earth you will have many trials and sorrows. But take heart, because I have overcome the world.”
John 16:33

For me to walk in faith and obedience, living out the Word of God the best I can…Being the hands and feet of Jesus even to the least of these in my life. Remembering Christ did the same for me and I was undeserving of it. Reminding myself of God’s love for me, that he delights in me and has chosen me to be his daughter in the His kingdom. Knowing and believing here on earth isn’t the end all. ♥️

How would you summarize the world beginning?
-God created the earth in 6 days and rested in the 7th

In what ways do you bear God’s image in your own life?
-By trying to spread the gospel to my kiddos at my nonprofits. By trying to set a good example in front of them and walking the walk instead of just talking the talk.

How would you define sin and brokenness in the world and in your own life?
-Sin and brokenness are in everyone. It takes us giving our lives to God before we can really start living.

How do you feel about God? How do you think God feels about you?
-God confuses me sometimes. It’s crazy to believe in something that’s physically not there. It takes a lot for me to believe in Him. I do though, because I have seen how my life has been saved physically and spiritual by something unknown to this world. It has to be God. I hope He feels like he knows I am trying to fully believe in everything that he has done.
