5 Tips for Hosting an IF:Local

We are so excited about the number of IF:Locals that have already registered for 2019! We’re praying for you and we’re here for you every step of the way. We know the planning process can feel daunting, so we’ve put together a few helpful tips to keep you focused on the most important parts of your event. Happy planning!

1. Read through the hosting guide.
This guide is packed with helpful information on hosting your IF:Local and reading it is the first step to successful planning. Read all about the timing of the weekend, registration details, and so much more here.

2. Keep it simple.
We’re all about keeping our events pure and simple. If the thought of table centerpieces keeps you up at night, then don’t do them! A few votive candles go a long way in setting the ambiance and your greeters and volunteers can make women feel more welcome than any decorations ever could.

3. Let us do the work for you.
We’ve already created signage templates, colorful napkins, and celebratory balloons, so there’s no need for you to do more work. Just pre-order them in our Shoppe and have everything you need for your event. *If you’re hosting your event live on February 8-9, place your pre-orders by December 19th to ensure you get the quantities you need!*

4. Think about the food.
Your women will likely get hungry throughout your event. Simple snacks like trail mix, fruit, and popcorn will make your women feel loved and cared for. If you want to provide meals for your attendees, but aren’t sure how to pay for them, remember that you can charge your attendees a small fee to cover these costs. Some local gatherings have also hosted a potluck, had their attendees go out to lunch, or even had food donated to their event!

5. PRAY.
The most important thing you can do to prepare for your gathering is to pray. Pray for each woman by name, pray for God to move, pray for your church, and pray for the disciples that are yet to be made in your community. We believe that the impossible happens when we trust God with what we know we can’t accomplish on our own!
